Safety Rules
LAST UPDATED DECEMBER 2024 – valid as of 01.01.2025
At Beatriders, your safety and well-being are our top priority. Please review and adhere to the following safety rules to ensure a positive and secure cycling experience for all members.
1. Health and Fitness Requirements
- Participants must be in good physical health to engage in both RIDE and LIFT classes. If you have any medical conditions, injuries, or concerns, please consult with your doctor before attending class.
- It is your responsibility to inform the instructor of any medical conditions or injuries that could affect your ability to safely participate in class. You may report injury or illness before, during and after class.
- If you are pregnant, it is your responsibility to inform your instructor. We highly recommend that you consult a doctor or practitioner who has authorized you to participate in either our LIFT or RIDE concepts.
2. Proper Attire
- Wear appropriate workout attire, including comfortable, moisture-wicking clothing and closed-toed athletic shoes.
- Cycling-specific shoes with SPD clips are recommended for optimal performance and safety. If you do not have cycling shoes, please use shoes with a secure, flat sole. ● Please bring socks to wear for LIFT classes. You will not be allowed to participate in class with only bare feet.
3. Class Setup and Adjustment
- Before each RIDE class, ensure that your bike is properly adjusted for your body size and riding posture. Be sure to adjust the seat height, handlebar position, and bike resistance as instructed by the class trainer.
- If you’re unsure how to adjust the bike, please ask an instructor or staff member for assistance.
- Before each LIFT class, ensure that you have selected the appropriate weights. If you are unsure of which weight load to use, please ask an instructor or staff member for assistance.
4. During class
- Always maintain control of your bike throughout our RIDE class. Keep your hands on the handlebars, your feet secured in the pedals, and your posture aligned.
- Follow the instructor’s cues and guidance. Never attempt to modify the pace, intensity, or exercises without instruction.
- Avoid distractions such as using mobile devices or engaging in conversations during class. Focus on your workout to maintain safety and concentration.
- It is the responsibility of the participant to adjust their weight load in all LIFT classes. If the weight load is too much or the pace of movement is not suitable for you, please reduce weight load to avoid injury and move at a slower pace.
5. Personal safety
- Always warm up before class and cool down afterward. Stretching and proper hydration are important to avoid injury.
- If you feel lightheaded, dizzy, or unwell during class, stop immediately and inform the instructor. It’s important to listen to your body and take breaks as needed.
- Do not push yourself beyond your physical limits. Start slow and gradually increase intensity as your fitness improves.
6. Equipment Use
- Always use the equipment as intended. In RIDE classes, be sure that your bike is properly secured before beginning the class and make sure that all personal belongings (e.g., bags, water bottles) are placed in designated areas away from the workout space.
- If any equipment is damaged or malfunctioning, notify a staff member immediately for inspection and maintenance.
- In LIFT classes, be sure that you have enough room on and surrounding your yoga mat. Keep all extra belongings in your locker outside the LIFT room to allow for all participants to have enough space for their weights.
7. Post-Class Etiquette
- After all RIDE classes, please return the bike to its original position and clean your bike with the provided sanitizing wipes to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for all members.
- After all LIFT classes, please return the weights to the weight rack in the back of the room and clean your yoga mat with the provided sanitizing wipes to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for all members.
- Do not leave personal belongings behind. Beatriders is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
8. Emergency Procedures
- In the event of an emergency, follow the instructor’s directions. Know the location of emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and first-aid kits.
- If you experience any injury or health emergency, please inform the instructor or staff member immediately. Our team is trained to assist in emergencies.
9. Alcohol and Drug Policy
● Beatriders strictly prohibits the consumption of alcohol or drugs before or during class. Members must be fully alert and in good condition to safely participate in all activities.
10. Class Participation and Behavior
- Members are expected to behave in a respectful manner toward instructors and fellow participants. Disruptive behavior, harassment, or intimidation will not be tolerated. ● Please respect the studio’s policies and guidelines to create a safe and welcoming environment for all.
By attending Beatriders, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to abide by these safety rules. Failure to follow the safety guidelines may result in being asked to leave the class or studio for your safety and the safety of others.
