VAT on fitness

From 1st of Janurary 2026, new Danish VAT regulations will take effect, and as much as we’d love to avoid it, all businesses like ours are required by law to comply. Instead of simply adding the full 25% VAT to our prices, we’re absorbing a chunk of the tax memberships ourselves because we value your loyalty and want to make sure you continue getting the best experience with us. To stay compliant while continuing to deliver the quality and service you expect, prices will increase by 8-23% depending on service.

We know price changes aren’t anyone’s favourite news, but we want you to know we’ve done everything possible to keep this as minimal as we can, while still providing the service you’re used to from us.

While we were at it, we’ve also made things a little easier for you! We’re simplifying our credit system – instead of “Regular” and “Mega” credits, you’ll now have one unified credit that can be used for everything. This change will make managing your balance simpler and keep things running smoothly for everyone

We’re here to help. If you have any questions about your membership, credits, or the new VAT rules, please reach out to hello@beatriders.dk or talk to us at the front desk.

FAQ

From 1 January 2026, new Danish VAT (moms) regulations will take effect. This means that fitness services, including group training and memberships, will now be subject to 25% VAT by law. Until now, most fitness centres in Denmark were VAT-exempt – but this exemption is being removed following a decision by the EU Court and Danish government. Because the new VAT applies directly to all fitness services – memberships, class credits, and private training. By law, we must now add VAT to all our services to stay compliant.

While VAT is 25%, we’ve chosen to absorb part of that cost ourselves to keep prices fair for you.
Depending on the service, prices will increase by only 8–23%, not the full 25%.

We’ve worked hard to keep this adjustment as small as possible while maintaining the Beatriders quality, instructors, and experience you know and love.

Yes! Purchases made before 1 January 2026 are not subject to the new VAT.
So if you plan to keep training with us (and we hope you do!), you can buy credits or renew your membership before the end of 2025 to take advantage of the current prices.

The Danish government has announced plans to introduce a new tax deduction to help offset the financial impact of VAT on fitness. While the final details are still being developed, this initiative aims to support members by making it more affordable to stay active, even after VAT is added.

We’ll share updates as soon as the exact rules are confirmed.

We’re simplifying things! Instead of having both “Regular” and “Mega” credits, you’ll now have one unified credit that can be used for any concept – Ride, Lift, Form, Heat, or Stretch.
This makes managing your balance easier and ensures maximum flexibility in how you train.
